KEY FEATURES
The Mountaineer Dog Backpack Saddlebags create a passive compression system that distributes the load evenly for your dog. Each side pouch has 3 zippered pouches, with the larger pocket alternating with mesh interior pockets and a second zippered compartment. There is even a keyhole for your dog to carry their own poop bags. A great option for day hikes but large enough to pack food, bowls and treats for your dog to overnight with you on your backcountry adventures.
INTEGRATED HARNESS
To give your dog a break on the trail simply remove the saddlebags from the harness by unbuckling the 4 attachment clips, giving you a sleek harness. The integrated Harness has two points of attachment, one between the shoulders and a front no pull attachment. It is equipped with two grab handles and the extra length in body makes it very comfortable for your dog when using the saddlebags by evenly distributing the weight.
WEIGHT RECOMMENDS
While it's awesome to have your dog help carry the load, don't over do it! It is said that your dog should not carry more than 25% of its body weight in the backpack, but we recommend a 10-15% ratio (especially for smaller dogs). If your dog is new to wearing a backpack, we also recommend you start light and work up as your dog adjusts to carrying a load.
